New York Times review of Les Murray's latest book, the writer says, '...one wants, retrospectively, to reach out and comfort the boy he once was.' I've kept for ages a picture of Murray when he was a small boy. I think it evokes exactly the same response:
I still have a photograph of my ex-husband as a 5 year old. He was so adorable back then....
