Headline of the Year

I don't think I've seen a better headline than this one for some time (sorry I couldn't manage to fit it into one single picture):

In case you can't make it out, this is what it says: "Fun-loving Catholic, whose life as a monk came to an end when he stuffed his novice master into a confessional". Thank you to Anna for spotting it.

  1. He was a good sort, was Henry. As a pupil at Ampleforth he, and the rest of the Lorimer clan, could never be accused of being invisible to us.

  2. Does that count as "muscular Christianity"?

As a tool of rebuke, an Easter candle seems unsatisfactory. A rugby player might be able to get a good first swing out of it, but how would it hold up?

  3. Recusant - judging by his obituary, I think you were v lucky to know him. He sounds exceptionally good fun.
George - I suppose it depends what you do with the candle
